Manicotti Reeboks

I went to see Mari at the shoe store where she works. Cynthia was with me, and so was a girl I knew in Catholic school named Muffy. Cynthia was trying on some pink Reebok high tops with cow print accents. She called the color “manicotti” and said she used to have some manicotti shoes a long time ago and they made her feel really sexy. Cynthia and Muffy decided to buy matching shoes.

I went to look at calendars and found a giant cat calendar from 2003. I wanted it so I could frame the pictures. I asked the owner of the store about it and she said she would sell it to me for $1 to cover the cost of the mineral bag.

Then we all left, but to get back to where we needed to be we had to go through this big, maze-like school that looked really run down. Aziz was suddenly with us. He kept wandering off and I would have to call him back to us, and I was afraid he was going to get lost. School was in session so there were high school kids all over the place.

At some point Cynthia opened a locker and there was a staircase in it. We all went down the stairs. I had to suck in my stomach to be able to squeeze through the locker door but once I was through, the staircase was perfectly roomy and led to darkish, steampunk-looking basement.

There was a bar there, and I sat down to order a drink. The drink I ordered contained something purple, midori, grenadine,  tonic and a cherry. While the bartender was mixing it I could see all the colors in layers, but when it was finished the drink was just green. The bartender said that drink was normally called a Zombie but he liked to call it something else.
